About the role
We are looking for an experienced IT Director to oversee global Information Technology in our organization. The IT Director's responsibilities include managing outsourced IT services, liaising with other departments to ascertain their technological requirements, and implementing solutions that meet these requirements and align with our organization's objectives. To be successful as GRL’s IT Director, you should have an excellent technical aptitude and superior project and people management skills. In addition, an outstanding IT Director should ensure smooth, secure, and consistently updated technical operations within our organization. Finally, compliance with applicable regulations, including PCI, GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA, is essential.


  • Oversight and Direction
    • Overseeing all global IT operations, including staff, outsourced services, infrastructure, service desk, and applications
    • Evaluating, developing, and implementing IT projects in line with organizational objectives
    • Acting as primary liaison for the company’s technology vision via regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users
    • Helping to prioritize short- and long-term objectives
    • Preparing and tracking operating and capital financial budgets and performance reports
  • Strategy and Governance
    • Proposing strategic solutions and recommending new systems and software
    • Developing business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology initiatives
  • Coordination (Planning and Execution)
    • Ensuring the maintenance of current projects and technology systems
    • Identifying vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement
    • Ensuring equipment and software operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations
    • Oversee all stages of the project lifecycle for new technology initiatives
    • Ensuring continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of systems, programs, and equipment performance
    • Seeing that all reported issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
  • Innovation
    • Conducting research to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable regarding industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes and system alterations

    • Creating, publishing, and maintaining IT process in accordance with best practices, including security and privacy principles and regulations
  • Leadership
    • Team leadership experience including building talent, training, supervising, coaching/mentoring, and performance management
    • Effective and efficient organization and planning skills with the proven ability to manage complex multi-workstream performance improvement projects or multiple concurrent client engagements, while delegating and overseeing the work of junior team members
    • Building and maintaining relationships with external advisors and vendors.


  • Formal Education & Certification
    • University degree in the field of computer science or business administration with an emphasis on technology leadership (e.g., MIS)
    • Proof of continued education such as certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP) is desirable
  • Knowledge & Experience
    • 8+ years’ experience managing and/or directing technological operations
    • 3+ years’ experience in assisting in the establishment of an enterprise IT organization
    • Experience in taking a company from start-up to enterprise caliber services, systems, and solutions
    • Experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and policy development
    • Solid understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities
    • Extensive knowledge of enterprise software applications, cloud applications, and outsourced systems. Experience in FPA, CRM, and current ERP vendors desired
    • Technical experience with networking, databases, applications, and user support
    • Excellent understanding of technical project management methodologies and principles; knowledge of the testing industry (TIC) is a plus
    • Proven experience in planning, organization, and development of systems and solutions
    • Superior understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
    • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems
    • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to technology issues
    • Experience implementing and documenting policies and procedures to address privacy including conformance with GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA as well as protection of intellectual property of GRL and its customers
    • Experience working in a global environment, liaising with leadership and staff in multiple time zones
    • Proficiency in English required for oral and written communication; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus
