Granite River Labs (GRL), a global leader in Engineering Services and Test Solutions for high speed connectivity and a member of the HDMI Forum, today announced its Agreement with Royal Philips N.V. (Philips) to host Philips’ High-Definition Multimedia Interface™ (HDMI™) Authorized Testing Center (ATC) compliance testing services in Taiwan and India. GRL will provide HDMI ATC services from two conveniently located facilities in Taiwan – Taipei and Hsinchu. Additionally, GRL will provide HDMI ATC services from its Bangalore, India lab, with day-to-day responsibilities of the existing Philips HDMI ATC transferring to GRL.
The Philips HDMI ATCs hosted by GRL in Taiwan and India provide HDMI version 1.x and 2.0 pre-compliance and compliance testing and debugging support for Sinks, Sources, Repeaters and Cables. GRL’s ATC services are available immediately to HDMI adopters.
The HDMI Specification, established by Hitachi, Panasonic Corporation, Royal Philips N.V., Silicon Image, Sony Corporation, Technicolor S.A. (formerly known as Thomson) and Toshiba Corporation, combines uncompressed high-definition video, multi-channel audio, and data in a single digital interface to provide crystal-clear digital quality over a single cable. Prior to mass producing or distributing any Licensed Product or component that claims compliance with the HDMI Specification, licensed Adopter must test a representative sample for HDMI compliance.
“Philips is pleased to have agreed with GRL to expand the availability of ATC services for HDMI adopters,” said Chris Buma, Royal Philips. “We have the highest confidence that GRL will demonstrate the same high levels of technical expertise and customer service excellence in hosting Philips’ HDMI ATCs that has already distinguished them in other standards.”
“We are excited to have established a deep partnership with Philips with this agreement to host Philips’ HDMI ATCs,” said Johnson Tan, CEO of Granite River Labs. “We bring deep HDMI expertise and a commitment to support the HDMI ecosystem and promote the continued innovation and adoption of HDMI in emerging 4K and 8K resolution video applications.”
