GRL Announces PCI Express® (PCIe®) 6.0 CEM Test Automation Software Suite

Efficiently test Receiver designs to the PCIe 6.0 CEM specification

SANTA CLARA, Calif. June 11, 2024 Granite River Labs (“GRL”), a global leader in test and certification services and automated test solutions for digital connectivity and charging technologies, has extended its PCI Express® (PCIe®) technology coverage and capability offerings with the GRL PCIe Card Electromechanical (CEM) 6.0 Test Automation Software Suite for Receivers (PXE6-CEM-RXA)

GRL invites you to visit their booth at the PCI-SIG® Developers Conference 2024 in Santa Clara, California. GRL is a Gold Sponsor and will demonstrate PCIe 6.0 specification compliance testing using silicon-proven Synopsys IP for PCIe 6.x.

The PCIe 6.0 specification delivers a data rate of 64 GT/s, effectively doubling the bandwidth and power efficiency of the PCIe 5.0 specification, which operates at 32 GT/s. PCIe 6.0 technology is a scalable and cost-effective solution for data-intensive applications like AI/ML, automotive, and data centers.

GRL-PXE6-CEM-RXA offers a streamlined and automated approach for testing PCIe 6.0 Host and Add-In Card designs using the Anritsu MP1900A Signal Quality Analyzer/BERT and any Tektronix or Keysight real-time oscilloscope. Paired with the PXE6-BASE-RXA software, the comprehensive PXE6-RXA package delivers a robust solution empowering developers to conduct comprehensive and reliable testing of PCIe 6.0 Receivers in accordance with the PCIe Base and CEM Specifications.

“To help mitigate data bottlenecks for AI and ML workloads, hyperscalers need high-bandwidth and standards-based interfaces like PCI Express to deploy systems at scale,” said John Koeter, senior vice president of marketing and strategy for IP, Synopsys. “Collaborating with leading testing automation software companies like GRL is key to enabling applications like data center virtualization and the efficient utilization of data center resources. As a leading provider of PCIe IP, Synopsys’ provides silicon-proven PCIe 6.x IP solutions that enable broad ecosystem interoperability.”

“GRL’s compliance test software automation solutions help facilitate the adoption of the PCIe specification,” said Al Yanes, PCI-SIG Chairperson and President. “GRL’s support for PCIe 6.0 specification Electrical Compliance Testing will help our members deliver PCIe technology-compliant products to market. We look forward to GRL’s future contributions to PCIe technology.”

“GRL is pleased to extend this solution to the PCI Express developer community, demonstrating our continuous efforts to empower the growth of the PCIe ecosystem,” said Vamshi Kandalla, chief strategy officer at GRL. “As the first PCIe Authorized Test Lab approved by the PCI-SIG, GRL is immensely proud of our PCIe technical leadership and contribution to the PCIe technology ecosystem which includes actively participating in the PCI-SIG Serial Enabling Group, conducting 'Gold Suite Testing' at PCI-SIG compliance workshops, and partnering with leading test equipment vendors to develop compliance test automation software solutions for the latest PCIe specifications.”
