The addition of IEC/EN/BS/SASO 62680 standards to GRL Shanghai’s CNAS accreditation builds upon the earlier approval of GRL Dongguan, enhancing support for manufacturers developing USB Type-C®, USB Power Delivery, and related technologies.
Granite River Labs (“GRL”), a global leader in engineering services, automated test solutions for digital connectivity and charging technologies, and professional market access services, has expanded the accreditation scope of its Shanghai laboratory under the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) for ISO/IEC 17025. CNAS, China’s national accreditation body responsible for evaluating the technical competence and reliability of testing and calibration laboratories, granted the expanded scope to GRL Shanghai in August 2025.
The scope expansion covers IEC/EN/BS/SASO 62680 standards, which define the universal serial bus (USB) specifications, including USB Type-C®, USB Power Delivery, and related interoperability requirements. These standards ensure that devices and chargers from different manufacturers perform consistently, safely, and reliably. This accreditation authorizes GRL Shanghai to issue CNAS-accredited test reports for USB technologies, providing manufacturers with trusted results necessary for global market access.
By building on both Shanghai and Dongguan accreditations, GRL can offer localized, CNAS-recognized compliance services for a broad range of USB digital connectivity and fast-charging solutions. Today, both Shanghai and Dongguan Labs provide professional test service for multiple IT/AV products, including Laptop, TV, Monitor, Bluetooth speaker., etc.
John Zhang, Managing Director of GRL China, said: "With both Shanghai and Dongguan now accredited by CNAS for IEC/EN/BS/SASO 62680, GRL has strengthened its footprint in two of China’s most influential technology hubs. This achievement underscores our commitment to the Chinese market, where we will continue providing localized, CNAS-recognized compliance services that help manufacturers accelerate product development and meet global USB standards with confidence."
