Granite River Labs (GRL), a global leader in engineering services and test solutions for high speed connectivity, is pleased to announce that GRL Director of Signal Integrity Engineering Miki Takahashi has received the Innovation and Technology Award from the SD Association (SDA) in recognition for innovation and contributions to the advancement of SD technology. The award was presented at a ceremony at the 2014 SDA General Assembly Meeting in Madrid, Spain.
The SD Association Innovation and Technology Award Program was created to recognize contributions and achievements made by SDA members to further SD technology for the benefit of the industry, consumers and its membership. This award gives the Association a chance to show appreciation and to thank SDA members for their time, efforts and personal commitments.
In addition to leading high speed interface characterization and signal integrity analysis at GRL, Miki currently chairs the SD Card Association Ultra High Speed Task Group (UHS-TG) to drive signal integrity discussion and test specification for UHS-II, the latest SD Card interface (SD 4.0). (The SD Association website features a video of Miki explaining the SD standard and UHS-II test guideline.) Prior to GRL, Miki spent over 15 years at NEC/Renesas Electronics and O2 Micro where he led the design of SERDES and high speed memory interface IP.
“I am proud to announce this recognition of Miki’s efforts in the SD industry,” said GRL chief executive officer Johnson Tan. “Miki has been the driving force in establishing GRL’s leadership position in SD technology, and instrumental in supporting the SD ecosystem as it adopts UHS-II to keep up with consumers’ demand for high-performing, feature-rich devices. We feel very fortunate to have him as a key member of the GRL technical leadership team.”
GRL wishes Happy Holidays to all our customers, partners, and friends.
