GRL Re-Certified as Avnu Recognized Test Facility - Now Including Milan AVB Switch Testing

Enabling interoperability and compliance readiness for Milan AVB network infrastructure across the professional AV ecosystem.

Granite River Labs(GRL), part of SGS, has completed re-certification as an Avnu Recognized Test Facility (RTF) following its participation in the Avnu Plugfest in London. The Karlsruhe lab in Germany is currently the only Avnu-recognized RTF based in the EMEA region and supporting Pro AV manufacturers worldwide.

The Avnu Alliance certification program establishes a common interoperability framework for networked devices across ProAV, Automotive, and Industrial sectors. Milan, maintained by the Avnu Alliance, is a standards-based protocol for deterministic, interoperable audio networking used widely in professional AV infrastructure.

GRL's certification scope covers the full range of Milan End Stations, Bridges, and Redundancy configurations, with the addition of the Milan AVB Switch certification profile from May 2026. The profile is based on IEEE 802.1BA and applies to AVB switch implementations ranging from compact 5–10 port configurations to large-scale deployments supporting 20, 30, and 50 ports with copper and SFP optical interfaces.

With the addition of the Milan AVB Switch profile, GRL Karlsruhe now supports the full Milan certification stack, covering end stations, bridges, and network switching infrastructure, enabling comprehensive interoperability validation and certification support for global Pro AV manufacturers.
