A list of mandatory TISI standards/NBTC and the scope of products that fall under them is available on the TISI/NBTC website. It is necessary to provide information about a local representative if a foreign manufacturer applies for TISI certification.

NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission)

  • Requirements: Wireless, Mandatory
  • Approval Certificate is a required for Customs clearance
  • Issued to a local company with a Commercial License.
    • Documents must be in Thai or English
    • Compliance according to NTC TS ( ETSI EN or FCC)
  • Authority : The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC)
  • Unlimited Validity

TISI Mark

  • Requirements: Safety, EMC, Energy Efficiency
  • Mandatory/Voluntary: Mandatory or Voluntary, where Voluntary TISI Mark applicable to local factory only
  • Certification Organization: Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI)Marking of Certification Logo or Number Required
  • Validity Period of Certification: Regular annual periodic inspection is additionally requested for maintenance of mark certification
  • Safety: TLAS Accredited Laboratory or Designated Testing Laboratory in Thailand under ASEAN EE MRA
  • Additional Requirements: Local representative Annual Factory Inspection required before TISI License can be obtained. Factory visit and assessment of documents showing the quality control process is performed by TISI or TISI authorized inspector.
