GRL’s System Margin Validation (SMV) Solutions are alternative test methodologies that use System Level testing while using lower cost Design For Test (DFT) features built inside PHY transceivers and lower cost external jitter and ISI injectors to recreate signal impairments rather than using traditional high performance BERT equipment. SMV testing does not replace traditional high precision BERT-based testing, but rather because of the lower cost point of these SMV solutions, more test coverage and higher characterization sample sizes are possible by running many test stations in parallel.
