USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) is inviting members to participate in the USB-IF Compliance Workshop #138 from August 12–15, 2025, at the Embassy Suites Portland Downtown in Portland, Oregon.

The workshop will provide USB-IF members with an opportunity to validate their products against the latest USB specifications through a structured, peer-reviewed compliance testing environment.

Who should attend?

With the European Union’s mandate on common charging now in effect (as of January 2025), manufacturers should ensure that their USB-enabled products conform to the relevant USB Type-C® and USB Power Delivery specifications. These requirements are enforced through legislation including the EU Common Charger Directive (EU) 2022/2380 and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1717, which reference the technical specifications published by IEC under the 62680 series.

To help companies demonstrate conformity to these specifications, USB-IF offers the EU Conformity to USB-IF Specifications (IEC 62680) validation program through its network of authorized Independent Test Labs (ITLs). This program provides manufacturers with a clear and efficient pathway to demonstrate product compliance with the USB specifications cited in the EU mandate.

USB-IF members can take advantage of this opportunity to validate their products according to these latest specifications for their external power supplies and portable battery powered devices.

USB-IF members will enjoy compliance testing at no cost for the following product categories:
