Test your PCIe 6.0 chip design with efficiency and flexibility

Granite River Labs (GRL), a global leader in engineering services and test solutions for connectivity and charging, has announced that the release of their PCI Express® (PCIe) 6.0 Receiver Calibration and Test Automation Solution. This solution provides full automation to efficiently test your IC’s PCIe 6.0 receiver to the latest PCIe 6.0 specification at 64 GT/s.

The PCIe 6.0 specification doubles the bandwidth and power efficiency of the PCIe 5.0 specification (32 GT/s), while continuing to meet industry demand for a high-speed, low-latency interconnect. PCIe 6.0 technology is the cost-effective and scalable interconnect solution for data-intensive markets like data center, artificial intelligence/machine learning, high performance computing, and automotive. To support such high levels of performance, the PCIe 6.0 specification prescribes rigorous test parameters, including the “cocktail” of receiver input stresses (jitter, inter-symbol interference, etc.) that the product under test must be able to tolerate.

Flexible, Fully Automated PCIe 6.0 Base Specification Receiver Calibration

GRL’s PCIe 6.0 Receiver Calibration and Test Automation Solution works seamlessly with both Tektronix and Keysight oscilloscopes paired with the Anritsu MP1900A Signal Quality Analyzer/BERT. The solution automatically calibrates the PCIe 6.0 Base (silicon) Specification stressed receiver at 64 GT/s using the Seasim statistical eye simulator, and tests receiver jitter tolerance and margin. The solution also supports automated jitter margin and customized stress parameters to allow engineers to discover the true performance of your design. Using GRL’s intuitive user interface and simple, industry-accepted setup, product developers enjoy a high degree of test flexibility without compromising on functionality or repeatability.

“GRL is proud to offer our PCIe 6.0 solution in partnership with Anritsu and add to our list of contributions to the PCIe ecosystem,” said Miki Takahashi, GRL Executive Vice President of Engineering. “GRL’s test automation software platform provides engineers with valuable tools to efficiently debug and validate early product designs across multiple technology compliance programs using the Anritsu BERT and multiple vendors’ oscilloscopes.”
